Peru's HistoryPeru was first established in July 28 , 1821, making the country about 195 years old. Some important historical aspects of Peru are having been a part of the Incan Empire, and then the histroical Spanish Takeover happened. When this happened, Peru went from being a dictatorship to a democracy. Peru shares a rich bond with the US for naval history.

Atahualpa was a titular figure in Peruvian history. He was the last leader of the Incan Empire. He was overthrown by Francisco Pizarro, who became the new leader, ushering a new era for Peru. This developed Peru into the country it is today. The current president of Peru is Ollanta Humala.
